Luke 42086 Posted June 21, 2020 Posted June 21, 2020 Hi there, have you enabled thumbnails for the library that this video is contained in? What is the runtime of the video?

Of course... I have three other libraries on this server... And I always tick that box in /Server/Library/Settings/ Thumbnail Images --> Enable Thumbnail Creation and I choose 10sec interval. And I repeat all other videos preview thumbnails appear You know what I mean : HEVC/H265 either 8 bit or 10bit bith depth, pixel format yuv420p, mkv or mp4 (well for now that the type of videos/movies where I can reproduce the issue, I only have HEVC/H265 videos of this kind), thumbnails preview when I mouseover the playback slider don't work. HEVC/H265 isn't really new, and there's quiet a lot of movies available out there... Especially bluray rip For info : the last version : On December 22, 2016, HEVC/H.265 version 4 was approved as an ITU-T standard. Discuss about HEVC/H265 history is pointless but I need to know if you fully support it or not? Especially what we can't do this format. For now, everything work, playback and all I really need but not the thumbnails preview when I mouseover Thanks Edited June 22, 2020 by vvglyy
samuelqwe 317 Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 Thumbnails for HEVC/h265 content is supported and works just fine on my system. If thumbnails are enabled for that library, then there must be some bug or another issue at play here.

But theres a huge task now doing some thumbnail image extraction... And it works !! Could you share, when you add a library for the first time, your settings for the library? Let say that its for home videos & photos. Thanks in advance for sharing this !

Yes, you need to run this task to make sure all your videos have been processed for thumbnails. 1 hour ago, vvglyy said: Could you share, when you add a library for the first time, your settings for the library? Let say that its for home videos & photos. I'm not quite sure what you want me to show you here. The default settings for a library should be the same for everyone, with thumbnail images off by default. Thumbnail image extraction must be enabled by turning the feature on in the library settings and by selecting an appropriate interval. Once done, the thumbnail extraction task will need to be run to create the thumbnails, unless you go into the advanced settings of the library and tell it to do so automatically when adding new media. 1
