Neminem 1535 Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 Hi all. Some how I have managed to change some setting, so that people metadata, now is stored on my G drive. And I do not remember where i changed that setting. All other metadata is stored with media or E drive.
Solution Happy2Play 9789 Posted April 24, 2020 Solution Posted April 24, 2020 (edited) Long story short you can't as the \metadata\people folder is no longer used in a new install. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/63331-how-to-backup-people-images-with-beta-going-onwards/?hl=%2Bhow+%2Bbackup+%2Bpeople I guess you could point the People Backup plugin to your Old people folder and attempt to restore existing people images to the new \metadata\library\xx\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx location. From a old install standpoint the server will use the old location until you have to start over or have to delete your library.db. But the answer would be Dashboard\library Advanced tab metadata path. But there will be database issue changing metadata path on a existing library so you have to maintain the existing location also or manually update the database for Path and Images column. Neminem 1535 Posted April 24, 2020 Author Posted April 24, 2020 Hi Happy2Play. Thanks for the answer Guess I will leave it for now. Need to read the link you posted Before going forward.
Neminem 1535 Posted April 24, 2020 Author Posted April 24, 2020 Hmm what would happen if I deleted the library.db What are the consequences ? Guess thats a big NO NO.

Depends on where you store your metadata and images, and how much customization you have done it you don't store with media. As everything not stored with media would be lost and re-added from online source. Plus all your userdata is there. But if you are a Premiere user you can use the Server Configuration Backup plugin to backup and restore userdata. If you are doing a new install, one should step through the wizard and apply all custom paths before adding libraries. Edited April 24, 2020 by Happy2Play
Neminem 1535 Posted April 24, 2020 Author Posted April 24, 2020 OK thanks. Images is stored with media. All other metadata is stored on my E Drive. Server backup plugin is active and running daily. So guess I can do that, when I work up the stones for it Again thanks.

Neminem 1535 Posted April 24, 2020 Author Posted April 24, 2020 Ok need to check on that. Thanks again.
