Library folder problem

Hi,

There's something odd going on with the recordings library, I'd be grateful if someone could help.

I have the following libraries set up:

Movies  (with the following 2 folders)

  D:\media\movies

  E:\media\movies

TV Shows  (with the following 2 folders)

  D:\media\TV shows

  E:\media\TV shows

I noticed that after changing the default recording folder to E:\media it no longer displays any of the content in E:\media\movies or E:\media\TV shows.  Only the content on D: is shown in the libraries.

I also noticed that there is an auto-created library called Recordings with the folder E:\media

If I delete this Recordings library then rescan the Movies and TV Shows library all of the missing content appears.  Then some time later the Recordings folder is automatically recreated and when this happens all the content on the E: disappears from the library.

I can see all the content on the E: drive in the Recordings folder and new recordings are working fine but this content is not being shown in the Movies or TV Shows library.

Any ideas why this would happen and what I can do to fix it?

thanks,

You can't have a folder as a library (/media Recordings) and a subfolder of that same folder as another library (/media/movies Movies).  It gets all confused if you try - as you've just seen.

Yes, I suspected that was the problem which is why I deleted the Recordings folder.  This fixed it until Emby automatically recreates it.

Why does Emby automatically recreate it and how can I stop it breaking this?

So under media create folder "other"

Set default rec path to "media\other"

leave movies and TV as they are.

You should be fine then.

Thanks Mark

That seems to have done it.  I assume you meant set record path to "media\other", the backslash appears to have got corrupted.

After changing this its working OK so far.

I guess Emby doesnt like Movies and TV Shows being a subfolder of the default record path.

thanks again,

Correct. Does not like ANY library path being a sub folder of another Library.
