I am replying here again because I trialed Emby for music some time ago but it didn't meet all my requirements. I have settled on Jriver for my music serving needs. However...

I am now trialing Emby as a video server for the family and it is looking good. It would also be good to give my kids access to music. Another plus one to continue pushing for the Discogs data option.

It has been more than a year - any progress on the idea of adding Discogs as a metadata and art source? It might be a great way to mitigate some of the related issues that have been reported by users.

Yes, it is a good idea, but it is matter of who is going to build it.

One thing I noticed via another topic is Discogs affects sortname as primary provider.  So it really messes with sorting.
