Quick Hi

I'm Mr.G in England. running MB on a headless  windows machine.

This may be FAQ101, but I did some searching, but could not find it.

My question is about changing the metadata location.

I ran a scan, and all the metabata, banners, fanart etc.  appeared in hte same directory as the media

My film folder structure

\\smbv1\film\1920s\
101,429 poster.jpg
2,042 movie.xml
569,087,544 The Flying Scotsman (1929).avi

can I put the poster on another drive. I had a quick look in the xml, but couldn't easy work it out.

I'd like to place all the metadata on anothere share like

\\smbv2\film\metadata\1920s\ etc

Is this possible and if so how?

The reason is, some of my media players, display all the files in a share.

Excellent forum and application.

You can't do specifically what you are asking but you can stop MB from saving them with your media files by unchecking the "Save metadata with media files" option in the settings.

You can do that, and also In advanced -> paths you can change the metadata save path. it won't migrate what's currently been saved, but all future metadata will be saved under there.
