Windows Emby Server LiveTV Transcoding Stuttering on NHLHD

Hello everyone,

 

This is my first post so I hope this is in the right spot. Most channels while transcoding do not have any issues. But, the NHL Network (HD) is skipping/stuttering while playing (transcoding) on emby. Direct stream has no issues, but this only occurs locally in the house. I've attached my logs below. I'm hoping there is something that stands out or a way to change the settings to keep up with the stream if that is the problem. Thank you in advance.

 

 

Computer:

Windows 10 

16gb DDR4 RAM

C: - 240gb SSD

D: for cache and transcoding is samsung SSD

**cool n' quite is disabled in bio

**Runs in Performance Mode

 

Hardware:

2x HDHomerun Prime on verizon fios

Hi there, usually this is a sign that the bitrate is just too high for the connection. Have you tried lowering it in the in-app playback quality settings? Looks like you have it around 6 mbps right now. For the remote connection, try lowering it to 1 mbps, then you can raise it higher as you see success. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

Thanks Luke. It seems like it was an issue with the incoming stream for some reason (opinion). As I tried many different connections externally that seemed to have that issue on channels such as NHLHD. But, following the W10 troubleshooting guide by silicondust helped.

Once I made the regedit, it seems to have helped with the overall congestion issue. There is initial buffering that eventually clears up.
