andresmorago 1 Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 (edited) Hello Im trying to setup my new Emby on a synology nas. So far so good. im sorry if this has been treated before. im noticing than all local clients are being treated as remote clients. i can tell this since i have this configuration on my users and none of them are being shows on the login screen when locally accessing emby is running on 10.0.0.2 Local http port number: 8095 Local https port number: 8096 Public http port number: 8095 Public https port number: 8096 automatic port mapping is disabled i also have an external domain already configured with a letsencrypt certificate borrowed from synology nas. nas01.xxxxxx.com at my router, i have this line on the dnsmasq.conf file so all local clients are forced to the emby ip address when typing the domain name address=/nas01.xxxxxx.com/10.0.0.2 also, the option Secure connection mode is set to "required for all remote connections" and when i locally try to access http instead of https, im being forced to https. thanks so much for your help Edited December 21, 2019 by andresmorago
Luke 42086 Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 Hi there, I would check the server activity log on the front page of the server dashboard. This will display the remote IP addresses of the clients. If these remote IP's are not correct, then your network setup probably requires adjustment so that Emby Server can see the correct address. Are the remote IPs correct?
andresmorago 1 Posted December 21, 2019 Author Posted December 21, 2019 (edited) hi thanks for your feedback. latest log entry shows andresmorago is online from Firefox 12/21/2019, 2:40:32 pm Ip address: 10.0.0.48 that ip address belongs to my local network in the case of user andresmorago, when i have this setup, im unable to see this user on the login page when accesing https://10.0.0.2:8096/ OFF Hide this user from login screens on the local network ON Hide this user from login screens when connected remotely when i change it, user shows back again OFF Hide this user from login screens on the local network OFF Hide this user from login screens when connected remotely Edited December 21, 2019 by andresmorago
Luke 42086 Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 So then it sounds like you want to go into the server Network settings and explore the option called "Lan Networks".
andresmorago 1 Posted December 21, 2019 Author Posted December 21, 2019 already set up since the beginning. sorry that i didnt mention that before LAN networks: 10.0.0.0 Bind to local network address: 10.0.0.2
Luke 42086 Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 That doesn't look right. That means only 10.0.0.0 will be considered in-network.
andresmorago 1 Posted December 21, 2019 Author Posted December 21, 2019 so if all my clients are within the network 10.0.0.0/24, what should i use here?
Solution Luke 42086 Posted December 21, 2019 Solution Posted December 21, 2019 I would suggest 10.0.0.0/24 1
andresmorago 1 Posted December 21, 2019 Author Posted December 21, 2019 great!!! now its working i had no idea i could use the cidr format on that field.
