Tony B. 38 Posted November 21, 2019 Author Posted November 21, 2019 (edited) That wouldn't be the reason that it's transcoding (at 1.03Mbps), the remote has a 110Mbps download and, the server has a 20Mbps upload, would it? Edited November 21, 2019 by Tony B.
Tony B. 38 Posted November 21, 2019 Author Posted November 21, 2019 Nevermind about the mismatching logos. I will start a different thread to get more accurate information.
Luke 42078 Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 That wouldn't be the reason that it's transcoding (at 1.03Mbps), the remote has a 110Mbps download and, the server has a 20Mbps upload, would it? No. Did you explore the stats feature in the video player to learn why it was transcoding?
Tony B. 38 Posted November 21, 2019 Author Posted November 21, 2019 No. At the moment, I am playing a recording and it says "Transcoding" on the mobile app, but the TV says "Direct play" although it looks like crap and it's obviously not direct playing. It doesn't give any reason but usually, with live TV it will say "Media exceeds bitrate". I would guess you want some logs of this, which ones do you want?
Luke 42078 Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 How to report a media playback issue. Thanks.
ebr 16183 Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 I don't think this is an Emby problem... looks like a general network problem, no? ...Netflix hangs while watching a video, the Fire TV menu is sluggish.
Tony B. 38 Posted November 21, 2019 Author Posted November 21, 2019 (edited) I would say so as well. It appears there is a bunch of noise on the line. I will find out from the tech that is on location, soon Edited November 21, 2019 by Tony B.
Solution Tony B. 38 Posted November 21, 2019 Author Solution Posted November 21, 2019 The result was a new cable/modem and a new drop line from the telephone pole. Direct Playing like a charm. The whole point of this thread was to find out from experts; how to find the bottleneck as fast as possible. 1
