SelmerGuest 0 Posted July 10, 2019 Posted July 10, 2019 Hi I noticed that on my kids android phones and tablet, they could not see "Seasons" in a Kids show, and I found that if I give the access to ALL, then they can see it. If I only grant them access to the Library with the Kids Shows they they cannot. Emby server is on Synology. The longer version I have Library with "kids shows" of the type "Mixed content". So for the kids shows where Emby regonizes the show, it will show nice information and pictures Emby has downloaded, And on the front page of a show, it will show a picture for each Season, and when you click that you get the nice overview with all the episodes for that season with pictures and text. And for the kids shows that Emby does not regongize, it will simple list a screendump picture for each file. That is fine. BUT I noticed that for ALL the kids shows that Emby DOES regonize, on my kids phones/tablets with their own accounts, below the text "Seasons", it is simple empty. Meaning they are not able to select any episodes. I tried on the same devices to log into with my own Admin account, and I can see the Seasons and episodes of those. My kids only have access to certain Libraries, so I granted them access to ALL, reopened Emby. and NOW they could also see the Seasons. Limiting their access to only that Kids Shows Library, the Seasons disappeared again. So my small guess is, is Emby putting the images in a location which is outside the folder that they users with limited access are allowed to see? Only a guess. Meaning when Emby want to show the selected Kids Show to them, Emby does not allow them to access the Season pictures, hence the Season-area is shown as empty. Regards Simon
Luke 42093 Posted July 10, 2019 Posted July 10, 2019 Hi there, I recall this being reported before I believe, and I think it is resolved for the upcoming 4.2 server release. @@Happy2Play do you remember?
SelmerGuest 0 Posted July 11, 2019 Author Posted July 11, 2019 Great if the 4.2 will solve it. If you need a Beta tester on Synology to test it, let me know
simonselmer 27 Posted August 2, 2019 Posted August 2, 2019 Hi I can report that the new version 4.2.0.40 did not solve the issue. Here is my folder structure on Synology: #Folder1: //volume1/NAS-Drive/videos/ #Folder2: //volume1/NAS-Drive/videos/kids/ And in Emby I have 2 Libraries #Lib1: "Videos" -> pointing to #Folder1 #Lib2: "Kids" -> pointing to #Folder2 So my kids only have access to #Lib2: "Kids", and here they cannot the seasons of Kids shows. IF I then grant access to #Lib1: "Videos", then the Seasons appears. And if I then remove that access, the Seasons disappears. Hope you can help solve this. Best Regards Simon
crusher11 1104 Posted August 2, 2019 Posted August 2, 2019 If they don't have access to the videos folder, they can't see anything inside it. Including the kids folder. Don't nest them.

Luke 42093 Posted August 2, 2019 Posted August 2, 2019 Ah great catch I completely missed that. That's not fully supported right now. It's something we'd like to be able to accommodate in the future.
