Hi,

As the title says, there are two sections in the Emby dashboard that have the same setting (although not linked too each other) the setting is for the internet bitrate limit for out of network devices, there is one in advanced menu and a duplicate in DLNA, please could you clarify why there is both? (see attached images)

bump so this doesn't get lost.

@@Luke why would DLNA have this setting?

@@Happy2Play Some older DLNA devices could have issues with high bit rates perhaps.

@ These are two different settings.

One controls the bitrate you set for EXTERNAL users.  You can also set specific limits on individuals as well.

The DLNA bit rate is for IN HOUSE/ON LAN DLNA devices and you probably only want to set that if you have a problem with too high of bit rates on any particular device using DLNA (if you are even using any).  Otherwise ignore this setting.

@@cayars if that's the case for the DLNA setting then it could do with being rephrased, currently it sounds like it also controls the bitrate for external users since it says 'for out of network devices'

But the DLNA device profile itself has that limit.

So how does "Internet streaming bitrate limit" apply to something that is only available on a LAN?

Internet streaming bitrate limit (Mbps):
An optional per-stream bitrate limit for all out of network devices. This is useful to prevent devices from requesting a higher bitrate than your internet connection can handle. This may result in increased CPU load on your server in order to transcode videos on the fly to a lower bitrate.

Maybe it's a mistake then.  I didn't look at the wording previously but just did.

The entry under DLNA and under Advanced seem to be the exact same setting.

I bet it's there by accident in the DNLA section.

@@Luke or @@ebr will need to comment on it.

The option was erroneously added to the dlna settings screen. We will get that removed. Thanks.
