When using a remote client to control Android, resume not working

I am using the TV app on a MiBox. and it looks like the resume function isnt working properly on at least TV shows.

If you do this:

  1. Have a TV show that has been pause midway and Emby is on home screen
  2. Connect with a remote client (I have tried Google Home and web browsers)
  3. Get the client to resume the TV show

You will see that instead of resume, the TV starts from 0 minutes.

Hi, are you able to resume the show from inside the app?

1) When you say the item was "paused".  Do you mean truly paused with the video sitting there in freeze frame or that you stopped it at a certain point?

2) Exactly how are you trying to resume (what specific steps) from the remote app?

Thanks.

1. Stopped at a certain point and then went back into Emby Home. The TV show will show up on the continue watching area on home.

2. For google home, I am just asking Google Home to play the particular video. For web browser, I am using the play on button to connect to Android TV app, then on the browser, I am clicking on the video and then hitting the resume button.

Are you logged into the controlling app with the same user as the Android TV one?

I just tested this and it worked fine for me.  But, resume status is saved per user so the resume point would come from whomever is logged into the device from which you sent the command, not the receiving one.

Yes I am. I just tried again and the show is starting from 0.

I am trying a TV series with multiple episodes to do this if that helps with the reproduction.

For what its worth, the issue was first discovered in the Google Home testing and then I reproduced the same behavior with the browser.

You can see that the request from home actually does send the ticks, but the app ignores it.

I also just tried with a movie and it works fine, so the issue seems to be limited to TV shows with possibly multiple episodes (I dont have a TV show with a single episode on my server).

Okay, I'll investigate further.

Thanks.
