Help removing songs from playlist

I am having trouble removing songs from playlists. Using the web client, I can remove the song using the "remove" button on the far right side, but I can't seem to get the changes to save. I select the option to save the modified playlist, then select the same playlist name to overwrite it.  But upon reloading the playlist, the removed songs are still there.

It sounds like you're removing from the now playing queue screen and not the original playlist. Is that correct?

That's correct.  Am I missing the way to modify the playlist directly?

Yes try on the playlist detail screen.

[facepalm] I knew I was missing something simple. I wasn't getting to the playlist detail screen because I was always selecting inside the play circle. Problem solved, thanks.
