The documentation on github seems to be a little thin. Are there more detailed usage instructions somewhere else? (I found where I place my m3u URL but I am not sure where to insert the destination directory for the strm files or the categories in the m3u file to only extract a subset of the movies/shows.) I think you might also find this helpful but it's not a "simple" solution, it takes a bit of scripting knowledge.
TvDamn 1 Posted February 28, 2022 Posted February 28, 2022 Good day all, @revengineer, i have the same problem. m3u2strm is everywhere but as i do not have coder skills, it is not possible for me to use it. The simplest way is a .exe that i found on github but same problem. To use the .exe, it says i got to create a configuration file in the same folder and i have no idea how to do it. I basically simply create a conf file named as it should be but it doesnt work. Maybe the config file need some coder skills too. I am interested if you find a solution M3U_to_STRM.exe 1
Carlo 4561 Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 Hi, @TvDamn I download the exe you provided and copied it to my D:\Test directory and ran it. I got a DOS box that gave me the following Config file missing! Please create the config file: D:\Test\\M3U_to_STRM.conf And paste the M3U download URL in the config file Did you try doing what it shows on screen when you run it? 1
Shad0wOTT 0 Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 Hi, Does anyone have a link to download Xtream Downloader?
revengineer 142 Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 That Software is EOL and no longer works correctly. I switched to Internet Download Manager.

No. I let emby ingest the m3u; the link is then on the web page for the title. I then copy/paste the link into IDM for download. This will work well for a small number of downloads here and there, which is my use case.

Neminem 1743 Posted May 18 Posted May 18 @luis.arroyoRead the first post. This project has been closed down.
luis.arroyo 0 Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Hi, what country are you from and what languages do you speak? My English is a bit difficult, I'm a bit rusty haha
Neminem 1743 Posted May 18 Posted May 18 You can use your browser to translate. And no I don't speak spanish.
luis.arroyo 0 Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Okay, so it's not working anymore. I tested it recently and it worked perfectly. But now I've formatted the machine and it's asking for an authorization code. I don't know how to do it.
sftech13 25 Posted June 4 Posted June 4 There are other tools/plugin out there that do the same thing., Just need to look for them.
JohnKramer 0 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Hi everyone, I know this thread is mainly focused on server-side extraction and integrating Xtream VODs into Emby servers, which is awesome. But if anyone here is just looking for a simple, on-the-go solution to download VODs directly to an Android device or Android TV without dealing with scripts, I wanted to share a project I recently built. I got tired of the hassle of downloading VODs for offline viewing, so I developed my own clean, lightweight IPTV player called LOD Player. It has a native Offline Download feature specifically for VODs. You just log in with your Xtream API, browse to the VOD section, and hit the download icon. It saves the media straight to your device's local storage (perfect for flights or traveling). It's currently live on the Google Play Store (LOD Player). The free tier lets you download and keep 1 movie/episode at a time locally. Just thought I'd drop this here as a practical alternative for those who want a quick mobile/TV offline viewing fix. I'm the developer, so if you decide to test it out, I’d love to hear your technical feedback! Cheers.
