Unaired Episodes

I'm not saying this is an issue with Emby but something new that I have recently started seeing.  I use Emby and another app that allows users to view the content that I have and do not have in my emby library and the user is able to make request for content.  This app will also sent out a newsletter of any newly added content.

Here is the issue:  In Emby I can search for future episodes of TV Shows that I do not have yet.  The shows have a label of unaired.  The app that I'm using seems to be pulling these unaired shows from Emby and sending them out in the newsletter as recently added content.  They also appears as if I have them in the search.

My Question: Has something recently changed with Emby and future unaired episodes?  I'm guessing this is an issue with the other app but wanted to check with both apps.

It must be an issue with the other app. I really don't know how to answer this without any more specifics, sorry.

I understand.  I thought the unaired episodes in Emby was a new feature but after reviewing the forum I found references to that feature that go back a couple of years.  I wanted to make sure there was no changes to how future unaired episodes are store in the database.

I assume you are talking about Ombi but, whatever it is, they just need to exclude items with a LocationType of "Virtual".

Yes you are correct on Ombi (wasn't sure if we were supposed to mention other apps in the forum so I left out that info).  Thanks for the LocationType information.  I will update my issue that I have logged with them.

Would you mind sharing the ticket/issue report? Would like to follow up on this.

Thanks!

I'm just curious. Is the "Virtual" LocationType a new value?  I reverted back to some older versions of Ombi that had been working and they are still showing these episodes. I'm assuming it's the Emby upgrade not Obmi that made the change.

Sorry for all the questions but I'm trying to figure out why this issue just started and why reverting back to older versions of Ombi did not resolve my issue.  I'm not sure what the API shows but when I look at my library.db TypedBaseItems the shows in question have a Path value of NULL.  Should the database have an actual column name LocationType with values of "Virtual"?
