smokey7722 15 Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 I'm about to take a new storage array online to replace my old one. However with this new array, I'm changing my top level folder structures. Prior to doing so I was hoping to confirm a few things... 1) When the new array is online and I update the libraries in emby, it should remove the old folders that aren't there and add the (effectively same) content from the new folders. Would it be better to start over with a new emby database which would also give me a nice clean one with no chance of remnants? 2) If I start with a new database, how does that affect playstates? Or permissions on libraries? Ultimately all folders will be changing for the libraries however I have a number of users with permissions that are customized and all so I was hoping to not have to recreate the entire libraries but just update their folders for content.
Solution Luke 42085 Posted September 17, 2018 Solution Posted September 17, 2018 Correct just re-arrange your emby library setup based on the new structure. Playstates could be affected yes. Movies and tv shows are keyed by provider id's such as tmdb/tvdb, so those generally will be fine. 1

smokey7722 15 Posted October 10, 2018 Author Posted October 10, 2018 So all went well though it took 2 full days to rescan the library and update everything. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
