spiffman192 3 Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 (edited) So I'll start with my question hoping someone has a simple answer. I'm running the Emby Linux server, and my server shows up on Windows 10 as a Media Server after (I assume) network discovery. How can this discovery be disabled at the server level? My issue is that the server is being discovered, and completely bypasses roles and permissions within Emby. I found this out when I discovered one of my kids watching an R-rated movie in Windows 10 Movies & TV app with the Emby server discovered as a Media Server there. Needless to say, this hasn't gone over well with the bride. The user account used for access doesn't have direct access to the folder in which the movie is shared. I don't see activity for the watched movie either. So, this feels like an odd one. I'm hoping that this functionality can be turned off and logged for those that do use it. Thanks all! Solution Happy2Play 9783 Posted September 4, 2018 Solution Posted September 4, 2018 This sounds like the DLNA server. Dashboard-DLNA-Enable Dlna server 1
spiffman192 3 Posted September 4, 2018 Author Posted September 4, 2018 Good call. I unchecked "Enable DLNA Server", and it is no longer being discovered as a media server. Thanks!
