Forced subtitle flag recognized but defaults to off

Hey there,

Earlier I finished ripping some new Blu-rays including a few with forced PGSSUB for foreign language scenes. I loaded everything up but quickly realized I forgot the forced flag in the MKV, so I used MakeMKV to flip the flag on 4 of these files where forced subs were present. One of the files, the one I was watching when I realized my mistake, still defaults to off despite the flag being changed. I tried rescanning library, removed the file altogether and readding and even tried setting the sub track to 'default yes' but no matter what it's still coming back as 'off' when I go to watch the movie. The other 3 movies default to 'Eng Forced' when I click into them. Same on mobile device too.

Any thoughts?

Have you explored your emby user subtitle preferences?

Yes same settings as always, subtitle mode is "Only forced subtitles" which are the only kind I ever include in my BR rips

Actually, maybe I'm just expecting too much/overthinking it-- I just now flipped it to 'Eng Forced' before watching it and I'm now seeing it default to that track on all my devices.

Like I said, I think it was just stuck on 'off' from when I watched it a little bit before changing the forced flag to yes.

In addition to the settings we also remember your selection for each individual video, so that must be what happened.

Thanks, I was just worried about other users. All makes sense now.
