jellowe 8 Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 Hello all, I originally installed Emby under a local administrator account and had it run as a service (OS is Windows Server 2012 R2). Then on my standard user I set the option in Emby Theater to start automatically at logon. Since Emby can no longer be run as a service, I am required to log in once under the administrator account and start Emby Server, then disconnect and log in again as the standard user and open Theater. I would like to uninstall Emby Server from the Administrator account and re-install to the standard user account so that I can make it run at startup. What is the best way to migrate the installation without losing user data, etc? If I use the Emby Backup feature then install to the standard user, and restore from that backup, will it preserve the users and watched data/etc? Thank you!
Solution d00zah 149 Posted August 14, 2018 Solution Posted August 14, 2018 You can still run as a service... it has worked fine for me since the change. https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Running%20Emby%20Server%20as%20a%20Windows%20Service 1
