Embyfied 3 Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 I'm new to setting up Emby Server (second day). While going to edit some metadata, I accidentally started playing a movie. The movie took about two seconds to start which seemed odd as previous experience with Plex/Kodi would see movies start playing in a fraction of a second. I checked the server logs and noticed an ffmpeg-remux...txt file. For fun, I turned off transcoding and nothing would play. Library/Share Path: /mnt/HD/HD_a2/MediaServer/Media/Movies (Optional) shared network folder: \\192.168.0.200\MediaServer\Media\Movies Server web interface URL: http://192.168.0.200:8096/web/... I've tried several different movies/formats. The Emby server is running on an WD DL4100 (same as the Share). The 'web UI is running on an i7 with GTX907 graphics and they are connected via wired, gigabit ethernet. It should be a rocket for anything sub-4K. Am I missing something really silly here?
Luke 42090 Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 Hi, remux is not transcoding. Can we look at an example? Please attach the information requested in how to report a problem: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/739-how-to-report-a-problem/ Thanks.
Embyfied 3 Posted June 13, 2018 Author Posted June 13, 2018 Hi, remux is not transcoding. Can we look at an example? Please attach the information requested in how to report a problem: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/739-how-to-report-a-problem/ Thanks. I hope this is the information needed. Aside from the above, I can add... When playing in Emby, the NAS is obviously working on something, but if I copy the path displayed in itemdetails.html (the path displayed by Emby) into a browser window, it instantly opens VLC and plays without any sound from the NAS. Thank you for your help! embyserver.txt ffmpeg-remux-2cc2f797-1138-48ef-b967-41624b9b83c1.txt
Solution Luke 42090 Posted June 13, 2018 Solution Posted June 13, 2018 Ok you're playing with firefox. the default audio track is ac3, which firefox does not support, therefore we are doing the remux to deliver aac as the default track. 2
