Just playing the movies/series, disabling streaming/transcoding etc.

Hey guys,

 

new here and asked already a lot, I know .

 

I now have mostly my library on my vero4k and pi kodi devices. I want that they just play the videos, noting streaming/encoding, so that my NAS is not busy all the time.

 

I made local links, so I needed to type in the network credentials etc.

 

How can I force emby to always only just play the file, without transcoding etc. anything?

Emby should ony be transcoding if it determines it needs to in order to play on your client.  If you want though you can go to the server dashboard and under users profile settings change the options for "Media Playback" which will turn off transcoding for all clients
