The album 'Here I stand' by Usher is being listed under Beyoncé (I don't have any music from her...)

Musicbrainz album id:

c9733ceb-8f40-4e5e-9a2b-b826a5aa839d

Musicbrainz artist id:

3414d446-735a-443c-931f-10634f57e5b9

Path: \Music\Usher\Here I Stand

None of the songs in that album have external ids set, and the artist field in all of them is 'Usher'

The only place Beyoncé is listed in that album on Musicbrainz is as a featured artist for the song 'Love In This Club part 2'. I have removed Beyoncé from that song and it still wont move.

The album is not listed under Usher in emby at all.

I suggest checking the tags in MP3 tag or a similar tool.  Individual songs may list her as an artist or she might be listed as Album Artist or AlbumArtist in the  extended tags on one or more songs.

Did you Refresh the album after making changes?  Note Emby does not update embedded tags when you change metadata via metadata manager.

Thank you @@Happy2Play,

I did a re-scan of my music library and it was corrected.

Didn't think that was necessary because I didnt have to do that for any other changes I have done.

I'm dealing with a similar issue. The artist "lbum Artist" shows up in my library with albums by Judas Priest and Taylor Swift shown. All the tags in the individual mp3's are correct.

The metadata in Emby has been corrected by replacing "lbum Artist" with the correct album artist for each track. Yet, I still see this:

It gets weirder when you click the MusicBrainz link shown. That brings up a 1983 release called "Out on the Road Again" by Artist (80s rock band).

I've scanned the library, refreshed, rebooted, each several times. I've even confirmed that the MusicBrainz and AudioDB ID's are correct in the Emby metadata.

"lbum Artist" shows up in the web app and Emby Theater, but is not listed as an artist in Metadata Manager.

Can't find any reference to "lbum Artist" anywhere on the server. Any ideas on where it's coming from and more importantly, how I delete it.

When you say 'tags in the individual mp3's are correct', what are you using to check these? From my experience, this sort of problem is often caused by having more than one version of tags (eg ID3v1 and ID3v2.3), and some programs will only display one version so you think the tags are all correct when there is some bad data in there.

Are you using something like Mp3tag to check these? What does it say about the different tag versions present?

And to outline how I fixed a similar situation with a rogue album artist that shouldn't have been there:

- Removed albums in question from the library and rescanned, at which point the incorrect artist disappeared

- Got rid of the bad ID3 tags (in Mp3tag below, for example, if you have ID3v1 and ID3v2.3 tags in the files it shows the v2.3 tags only but will also have ID3v1 mentioned in the tag type column, and by default if you 'select all'-'tag copy'-'tag paste' it should overwrite all versions of tags present with the ones you're seeing. Can confirm these overwrite settings in Tools-Options-Tags)

- Added albums again and rescanned, all should be correct
