FordGT90Concept 97 Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 I think I'm seeing the same issue here. First observed on Emby Theatre on Xbox One S in "This Is Us." Occurred again today watching "Blindspot." Then I opened it in Edge checked Blindspot and the first time I jumped to the problem spot, it did the same thing.Symptom: video pauses, audio keeps playing.Tested in MPC-HC and the recording appears to have no issues. Presumably, there's something wrong with streaming.Restarting the Xbox and trying again, video apparently locks up in the same place.Issue started very recently. Running 3.2.70.3 now. It definitely didn't exist in 3.27.69.x video-freeze.zip
Guest asrequested Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Are you using 'convert to streaming friendly'?
FordGT90Concept 97 Posted January 27, 2018 Author Posted January 27, 2018 (edited) I highly doubt it. The HDHomeRuns transcode MPEG2 to h264 and that's what the server captures and saves. That's what they stay as on the server unless the server has to transcode/remux it for a specific client. All of the clients are capable of rendering h264 natively. Guest asrequested Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 So you have it configured like this?
Luke 42079 Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 It appears these logs are from more apps besides the xbox one. can you please indicate which one is from the timeframe that you experienced a problem? thanks.
FordGT90Concept 97 Posted January 28, 2018 Author Posted January 28, 2018 (edited) All of them except Android but that might be a coincidence because no one has been watching recordings on there since this started happening. It's happened frequently on Xbox One S (user: Lauren). I'd look just afternoon. About 2 pm, I logged in on my computer (user: Lee) via Edge browser and checked the Blindspot recording myself. After it began playing, it locked up when I tried to jump to the problem area shortly thereafter. I don't think it's in the logs because this was after I copied them but Lauren tried Emby Theater on BY-2009 and the video stopped streaming too. The only way to reliably watch a recording right now is MPC-HC. Using Emby, no matter the client application, has issues. Edit: Blindspot wasn't successfully played at all via Emby so any instances in there of someone starting to watch it ended with problems. @Doofus: there are no MKV files on my server. It is as I said it is: pre-recording transcoding is done by HDHomeRuns and post-recording transcoding is done on the fly and on demand. Edited January 28, 2018 by FordGT90Concept
Solution Luke 42079 Posted January 28, 2018 Solution Posted January 28, 2018 It sounds like a not so great file to be honest and mpc-hc is just a little more resilient at handling that. 1
FordGT90Concept 97 Posted February 26, 2018 Author Posted February 26, 2018 It hasn't really happened again so yeah, the file is probably corrupted from a blizzard or something.
