BATTLE DONKEY 98 Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 what if i have a combination of episodes that appear as the following show.name.s01e01.hdtv.avi show.name.01x02.720p.hdtv.avi i really dont want to have to rename all of these files, just play That won't be an issue, I have episodes named differently like that also and they get sorted properly. What you have to do is take them out of their individual folders and place them either in the root folder or create season specific folders ie. season 1, season 2 etc.
jahblessed 0 Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 i just started using this program and all i have to say is WOW, what an amazing program... that being said, ive only encountered one problem though and it seems to happen with my TV show recordings.. It will list the TV show folder (ROOT) and in the subfolders (prior to entering) it will display that there are XX episodes/files within it in a green circle but when i go within the subfolder nothing is displayed. on my harddrive, i have the shows structured like this D:\TV\The.Big.Bang.Theory\S01\Ep01.avi D:\TV\The.Big.Bang.Theory\S01\Ep02.avi D:\TV\The.Big.Bang.Theory\S02\Ep01.avi D:\TV\The.Big.Bang.Theory\S02\Ep02.avi and continues to follow this structure for all other shows.. im thinking its because the episodes are within a subfolder because when i look at movies i have stored i also have a subfolder with a sample clip and that doesnt show up at all but the movies themselves play perfectly. can someone carify this for me?
Solution ebr 16177 Posted March 15, 2014 Solution Posted March 15, 2014 Please review our supported naming conventions. Your season folders don't conform to them. Media Files & Folders Structure
Tim Hobbs 91 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 i really dont want to have to rename all of these files, just play There is a great free utility called filebot - it uses various metadata db's and can rename files/folders for you. It requires a little digging to get into the formatting for setting up the naming patterns, but it can make the job a lot easier. It uses the groovy language, so there is decent documentation on the templating language. Another great utility is bulk rename utility - I haven't used it for renaming folders (though it does support it), but it works really well for files. The renaming features are quite advanced - it won't win any UI awards, that is for sure - but it is pretty powerful, and you can use regular expressions for pattern matching too.

It is the season folder names. You have "S01" and you need "Season 01" (or one of the other translations for "Season" that we support). Or, as noted above, no season folders at all.
Luke 42078 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Another really easy fix - move offending files to a temp folder, setup auto-organize to monitor that folder and it will move and rename them,
jahblessed 0 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 thank you guys, just renaming the folders from Sxx to Seasonxx did the trick, just took a little time. excellent app
