Noob question.. Being added to emby server on smart tv

This is such an noob question, but i don't know the answer to it

 

I've just been added to someones emby server

I have received the emal from emby

Through app.emby.media im able to see his/hers server

 

But since I don't have his ipadres, how do I set this up in my emby app on my samsung smart tv

I know the way with ipadresses en my own server is reachable

Hi, you don't need to know their IP address, instead just use the Emby Connect sign in feature in the app. This will allow you to sign in with a much friendlier pin code process.

Perhaps I'm being extremely noob
But since im only using the  samsung smart tv app my only "add server" enviroment is shown in the screenshot. But where do I find the emby connect sign in
I'm using the latest emby version on a UE40H6200W samsung smart tv. The screenshot is from a youtube clip, not my own tv

Have you tried entering your friend's ipaddress:port in the field as it says?

It helps now that we know what model tv and version of app you're using

 

I don't believe the old unofficial app ever had the ability to use connect added, but you can try changing the port like CBers mentioned

 

The newer official app from the Samsung store should be able to use connect and then you can do as Luke mentioned above.

I think I posted it in my first reply. To quote myself "I'm using the latest emby version on a UE40H6200W samsung smart tv."

And in my official samsung store I cant seem to find the app. So its probably not there

OOH Now i see. Everything on the internet is still pointing to installing the third party app. And that's not the way to go

Hi, can you describe your issue in more detail? if it's your server then you don't need to invite yourself.

It's friend server so that i cant enter to the emby app in Samsung tv because it ask me to provide the ip address and i don't have .

Can you ask your friend for the server ip address?

Then you need to ask them to send an invitation so that you can use the pin feature. it is their private server installation. There is nothing we can do to grant you access to it.

Hi Luke, there is possible for the Dev Team to add the (*aspect ratio) feature to emby TV apps (Samsung, LG amd others) in future release?, it would be really nice to remove the Black Bars on movies and watch the videos in all the tv screen, thanks in advance.
