djon 16 Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Does anyone else have problems with OpenSubtitles no longer seeming to work and Emby isn't downloading subtitles anymore? I'm getting a lot of the errors like in the attached file. The user/pw works fine when logging in on the opensubtitles website. SubLog.txt
Luke 42083 Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 It looks like the request is timing out. Maybe there is an issue with your network connection or maybe there is an issue on open subtitles's side. I would give it a try again later. thanks.
djon 16 Posted December 22, 2017 Author Posted December 22, 2017 Well it's been going on for a week now, so it must be something bigger.
Luke 42083 Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 During the last week i actually rewrote our opensubtitle implementation, which is in the new release, so suffice to say, it is working just fine for me. That tells me that your machine is having trouble reaching the open subtitles api, which could be some kind of network problem, or perhaps something is blocking the connection.
djon 16 Posted December 22, 2017 Author Posted December 22, 2017 It works fine for everything else Internet-wise. What is the API address? I can try it manually then.
Luke 42083 Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 No, in a browser it redirects me to their home page. So I guess that is your answer.
Solution djon 16 Posted December 23, 2017 Author Solution Posted December 23, 2017 Seems my ISP has started to block the site. Switched DNS to Google's and now it works again.
horizonbrave 1 Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 out of curiosity: is the login mandatory for the download of the subtitles through emby? Cheers

Thanks in advance Hi. I would try disabling any browser add-ins you may have or try a different browser. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
Luke 42083 Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 Yes that's either a browser add-on, or the browser's auto complete function. Thanks.
