Android TV - Pass Direct Path greyed out

Just noticed this option today and I am attempting to use it. 

 

I set up "optional network path" as outlined here: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Optional-Network-Paths

 

Screenshot is attached. My unraid server has open samba shares, so I shouldn't require authentication to them. 

 

Hardware: Nvidia Shield 

Emby server: 3.2.50.0

Emby app: 1.5.11g 

 

In the emby app I can see the option but like the tile says, it is greyed out.

In the Android TV app, the Pass Direct Paths option is greyed out. 

 

Ah, it looks like this option is only available for external playback apps.

Correct.  That option is only available for external players.

Not at this time, that's why it isn't available .
