promytius 1 Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Naming manual says: "Music Images - Images are supported in both artist and album folders, as well as images embedded within audio files." How can you possibly embed an image in an audio file? Thanks.
jasonmcroy 316 Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Musicbrainz is one example of a program you can use to embed images into music files.
promytius 1 Posted October 8, 2017 Author Posted October 8, 2017 thanks, but that was a"program that can do that" answer; I was more interested in how a visual image can be embedded in an audio file; the formats don't seem compatible. HOW exactly does that software do it? I have that program Musicbrainz Picard, and it is good at many things but is terrible at renaming multiple file batches of mp3s, all needing numbering, but the process is so clunky, it is almost as slow as manually changing them. Thanks. I will definitely try that program on some of my own audio tracks - that would be a kick to see an image appear when I play them! 1
jasonmcroy 316 Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Ah, I see. Yeah, I don't know the answer to the HOW. It is pretty cool though to be able to see your images pop up when listening to music. It does the same thing on my phone when I use my music player app (not the emby player) there.
Solution cyr 1 Posted October 8, 2017 Solution Posted October 8, 2017 It's part of the metadata that can be stored in many audio formats (just like song title, artist, album name etc). e.g: http://id3.org/id3v2.3.0#Attached_picture 1
naeonline 27 Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Try mp3tag if you don't like picard. Also mediamonkey is pretty good.
promytius 1 Posted October 8, 2017 Author Posted October 8, 2017 Cyr, you totally scored an A! That was a perfect reference; I did not know you could do that. Way cool! Thanks for your replies!
