rwitzel 1 Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 I've looked through the forums and can't find this exact issue, I'm hoping someone has seen this issue before. I sporadically have had the issue with series or episodes being identified as batman. I have decided to reset everything and start over. Right now I can't get a library to work with seasons of recorded shows. My shows are stored in F:\TV\Series\SeriesName\SeasonNumber\Episode If I define a default recording path of F:\TV\Series, episodes are recorded to F:\TV\Series\Series\... If I define a default recording path of F:\TV\, recordings end up in the right place (F:\TV\Series\SeriesName\SeasonNumber\Episode). However when I click on the show in emby, I see episodes from all seasons mixed together. If I then define a series recording path of F:\TV\Series, I see a new library created named series. This library is never populated, even after a library scan. Finally I created a TV library pointing to F:\TV\Series and removed all live tv recording paths. My shows are then displayed correctly, but of course shows are recorded to C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\data\livetv\recordings\Series\ShowName\Season 2 and don't show up in Emby anywhere as there is no library monitoring that directory. I'm sure that isn't very clear the way I've explained it but hopefully someone has seen this... Thanks

rwitzel 1 Posted September 7, 2017 Author Posted September 7, 2017 (edited) Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately I have gone through that post a couple of times. I don't have the batman issue any longer. I don't have a way to display season folders. Here is my current set up (I deleted all libraries before setting this up): Default Recording Path: F:\TV\ Series Recording Path: F:\TV\Series\ This results in 2 libraries being created: Recordings: (mixed content)- If I click on this library I see a series folder, I click on that and see all my shows. If I click on a show I see all seasons mixed together. Recorded Shows: (Content type is TV). If I click on this library I see nothing. I've re-scanned meta data, but no content shows up The only functionality I'm after is recording a show (using a hdhomerun) and having the content display by season in the library. I'm sure I'm doing something stupid, but I can't find it anywhere. Has anyone else seen this? ******** UPDATE I may have just found a work around: In the Metadata Manager under Recordings (The library created by the default recording path), I click on Series and changed the Content type from Inherit to TV. Now I see Seasons if I click on Recordings, Series, Show Name. It feels like I'm missing the ideal solution, but this works for me for now. Edited September 7, 2017 by rwitzel

Make them separate directories. Here's how I have mine: 1
Luke 42087 Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 Yes there are some known issues with that type of nesting when setting up libraries, so doofus is right.
rwitzel 1 Posted September 7, 2017 Author Posted September 7, 2017 Thanks! Doofus was right. Once I set up the folders without nesting them, everything works as expected!
