Question about windows and linux file systems

I click play, it opens MPC and then goes back to emby... It is trying to direct play it. It works in the web player but that is direct streaming.

More than likely, MPC cannot access the path or maybe just doesn't like the format.  If MPC has a log, I would check it.

 

Otherwise, you could try using the internal player.

Hi.  That's a server log and looks like only a snippet.

 

If there is a clue in our software (although it sounds like the external player is the one with the problem) it would be in the EMC log.

It was the file location. The folder had a colon in it and Linux played that fine. windows lost its mind and renamed the folder completely so it obviously couldn't play it because it didn't know where it was.
