subby 2 Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 I been have an Intel NUC as a media center in my bedroom. Main PC in office is the server. Both connected by wifi on same network. I have setup and configured emby server and the client correctly to my knowledge. I can watch media fine in web browser with no stutters. But in the Windows Media Center software, it stutters abit or freezes for a second. I like using WMC as i can use a remote for it and skip, play rewind etc in WMC. Unable to do this with remote in web browser. Have to use a mouse and i hate it. Both PC running windows 10 latest build. K-lite codecs. Attached logs from client and server. Can someone tell me why its doing this. MBClassic-20720179250f3ddbe004a108076e0c83c988da7.log server-63636105599.txt
Solution ebr 16169 Posted July 20, 2017 Solution Posted July 20, 2017 Could be codec issue could be refresh rate issue or any number of other things. Have you thought about trying Emby Theater instead? 1
subby 2 Posted July 20, 2017 Author Posted July 20, 2017 Yeh I've been looking at getting Emby Premiere for a month to see if it helps. Or downgrade to Win7 on the client so runs better with WMC. Just thought might be something in the logs that I can't understand.
dansblackcat 37 Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 (edited) It's a windows 10 issue. I had the exact same problem with stutters and I just ended up going back to W7 on my media centre machine. No matter what configuration of codecs or W10 MCE hacks I was never able to get the stutter to go away. I also had the same issue on W8.1 so the problem is with the installation hacks to get Media Centre to install on a version of windows that was released without it built in. W7 and W8 with Media Centre pre installed was the only way I was ever able to get it to work without any issues. Edited July 25, 2017 by dansblackcat 1
