Blank screen / nothing visible after Reset Local Database

I was having problems with episode/movie file artifacts and so did a local database reset through the Emby plugin.  Had it reset cached artwork but not settings.  Restarted Kodi, got the Emby server Welcome! and then let sync / rebuild the library.  Next time I went to check on it, the screen was blank.  Restarted Kodi and got the startup Kodi logo or maybe that's the Aeon splash screen, then the notice of next backup from the backup plugin, then the Emby server Welcome! and then back to blank screen.  Restarted the PC and got the same results upon Kodi startup.

I'd love to know what happened but more importantly is how to fix it without wiping everything out and starting over from scratch.  Thoughts?

Two weeks and no one has even viewed this?

Anybody?

Sorry about this. If you change skin, does this still happen? I don't see anything out of the ordinary in your Kodi log.

I don't know how I could change skins because as soon as Kodi loads, the screen goes black.  I do have backups but don't know how to restore them for the same reason.  Any thoughts?

Are you able to navigate to the kodi directory, outside of Kodi I mean?

Yes, I can do that.  What can I do outside of Kodi?

Ok, are you able to remove the plugin.video.emby folder from Kodi/addons(move it out of the addons folder)? Let's try that first. Start Kodi, does the blank screen happens?

Getting late for me so I'll have to try that tomorrow and report back.  Thank you so much for the assistance.

Finally getting back to this.  Moved plugin.video.emby folder out of the addons folder and then started Kodi.  No change though; Kodi splash screen then black screen with only a temp popup message from the backup addon.

What else to try?

Thanks again for your help Angelblue

Do you have your Kodi log from after moving the folder out?

I'm starting to think your issue has nothing to do with emby for kodi. With the addon moved out, Kodi does not load the addon. So it's not the cause of the screen going black.

Check your storage? Are you out of space maybe?

See the attached log.

Storage is almost 15 GB so that's not a problem.

Ideas?

Ok, well there's no emby for kodi in your log, so something within Kodi must be messed up. First thing I would try is delete your artwork cache. In the Kodi directory > userdata > Database > delete the textures13.db. Does this fix the black screen?

Tried that but still get the black screen.  I did see that it was updating the library/artwork by way of a popup.

Should I be taking this to the Kodi forums?

Hmm ok. Last thing to do would be to enable Kodi debug to get the best log possible to figure this out.

Please do this here (modify your /userdata/advancedsettings.xml), unless you are fast enough to enable it in settings > system options when kodi is running: http://kodi.wiki/view/Advancedsettings.xml#loglevel

Start up Kodi, provide that log, thanks :)

Sorry, I should have specified to remove the emby for kodi addon for that log. Could you do it once more without emby for kodi folder in addons? Thanks.

Ok, try deleting the /userdata/guisettings.xml (it holds skin settings). This should set everything back to default.

Does that solves your issue?

Yeah that did it.  Now to rebuild though...:(
