How do you setup port forwarding

I am trying to setup my router but am having trouble. I can access my server from my android device just fine when I'm connected to the wifi, but as soon as I turn it off I get a cannot connect to library error. I do not know where the issue is. I thought I setup port forwarding correctly via the U-Verse interface, but I temporarily turned off my PC firewall to test it, and still got the same error message. Please help, how do you correctly setup port forwarding? This is what I have currently. I tried UDP protocol and also TCP, for both ports respectively

You will need to have two separate connection settings in media browser on your android device... One when connected to the same LAN as your server and one for remote access

But it should still be the same IP, correct?

No... The local IP addresses on your LAN are not accessible from the Internet on purpose. This allows these blocks to be duplicated all over the world.

If you go to the Web Client Dashboard for Media Browser, you can click on Info to see your external IP. You can get to the dashboard by clicking the gear icon in the web client.

No.  That's why there will be two.

AWESOME! Thanks a lot guys, that did it. And I just thought I had the port forwarding setup incorrectly :)

Also, if I happen to be away from home with my laptop, is that the same IP that I would put in MBT to access the server?

If you pay for a static IP address from your internet provider then yes, it will be the same IP and will always stay the same.  If you don't, then you have what is called a dynamic IP address that can change at the whim of your internet provider.

Many people use dynamic dns providers so they can always connect to the same url (it will be a named domain instead of an IP address).  So you could create a domain name for yourself like buddyweiser.dynu.net and use it to connect to MB.  I use dynu.net, they provide a free service.  I know quite a few people who use noip.com as well.  Just google "dynamic dns" and you'll find all kinds of options.
