BajaPaul 2 Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 (edited) When watching live TV show I can pause and start the station stream but none of the rewind or fast forward buttons do anything. Is my understanding wrong? With old DVR cable box I could pause but stream was being recorded. Result was I could come back in a few minutes and then fast forward through the commercials. Or, I could rewind to watch a bit of something again that I missed or did not catch first time through. You know, rewind that football play! This behavior happens using Emby Theater or browser on any device I use to watch live TV. Rewind and Fast Forward while watching live TV, does Emby Premiere do this? If not, then the rewind and fast forward buttons should be disabled and shaded out when watching live TV. If this is the case, then that disappoints. :-( Edited May 18, 2017 by BajaPaul
Solution Luke 42078 Posted May 19, 2017 Solution Posted May 19, 2017 Hi, live tv playback in the web browser fully supports rewind and fast-forward. Emby Theater for Windows Store supports it as well, but it is not yet implemented in the desktop app. Does this answer your question? Thanks ! 1
BajaPaul 2 Posted May 19, 2017 Author Posted May 19, 2017 (edited) I been hopping back and forth checking out your various view options. OK, I just deleted desktop version since no support for rewind and fast-forward. Store version better way to go for me anyway since auto updates. Rewind and fast-forward for Edge and IE browsers works perfect. On live TV station change, they both have the dual clocks showing at the bottom. Left clock jumps back and forth with your selections and right clock shows accumulated time. Awesome! The W10 Emby Theater Store version is still giving me problems. I have to fiddle with it to get rewind and fast-forward functioning. On live TV station change, only the accumulated time clock is showing. After over an hour of experimentation, I figured out method to get it to go into "rewind and fast-forward mode" and show the left clock beside the accumulated time clock. Seems to work every time. Click near middle of horizontal progress bar and then a moment later, while still highlighted green, click to the left on highlighted bar. Viola! After brief pause, second clock appears and rewind and fast-forward works as expected. So issue/bug for store version of Emby Theater, on live TV station change, it is not starting with both clocks showing at bottom like browser version does. I am told I am one of the remaining 5 people who have a Windows 10 phone. Behavior on the phone is identical. Tap middle, tap left, and second clock appears and good to go. Thank you for support of W10 Phone! So do you have this issue or can you duplicate it? Edited May 19, 2017 by BajaPaul
Luke 42078 Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 For the most part, no, I've been able to just click on the progress bar. but the windows store app is using the native microsoft-built progress slider, and it can be a little finicky. Yes as far as time display goes, we will be changing the way that is displayed for live tv.
BajaPaul 2 Posted May 19, 2017 Author Posted May 19, 2017 One click doesn't do anything for me. It takes two, I have to click left to get the bar to expand somewhat, then click on the bar again while it is highlighted. Then all works. FYI, my W10 is fully updated/upgraded but not running Insider Program releases. Thanks.
Luke 42078 Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 @@BajaPaul, thanks we're looking into the progress bar.
