ebnerjoh 2 Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Hi, How can I handle two Versions of the same Movie? First Version is a 1:1 Copy of one of my BluRays. The second one is ripped with Handbrake. Now I want to compare both versions. I created a folder with "Moviename (Year)" and inside I have "Original.mkv" and "Ripped.mkv". The Movie is detected correctly and Emby shows me, that there are two versions. But how can I select, which of the two versions is played (within Emby and within Kodi)? Br, JOhannes
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Which movie to use, given bitrate settings and res of the source file, is decided automatically by the client. Were these different versions of the movie, like a director's cut and the theater cut, then you would put them in separate folders and make them into a collection. There is at least one feature request for allowing the user to choose which movie file in a directory to play when there are multiple versions like you have. Look those up and like them if that's something you need.
ebnerjoh 2 Posted May 8, 2017 Author Posted May 8, 2017 Ok, as it is only for testing purpose I put them in seperate folders. One is recognized correctly, the second one not. But it is ok as I need it only for a test.
Solution naeonline 27 Posted May 8, 2017 Solution Posted May 8, 2017 Read through the naming wiki, it covers multiple version naming.https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Movie%20naming#multi-version-movies 2
