Hardware acceleration question

So I'm running Emby Server as a service on a WSE2012R2 server with a Core i7-3770, but the motherboard does not include GPU integration so I cannot access the CPU's HD4000 (which is pretty crappy anyway).  I stuck an ancient graphics card in it solely to manage the server locally as needed.

I ran GPU-Z and the only option I have is software acceleration.  I assume that means I don't have the option to use Emby's hardware acceleration in any form, am I correct?

I am very interested in using Emby to stream LiveTV from my HDHomeRun Prime to various devices, particularly Roku boxes.  Would it be beneficial to install a decent graphics card in the server solely for hardware acceleration?

Appreciate any thoughts out there!

Well you have an i7 which is already a very capable CPU. Once we improve the load balancing between gpu and cpu then I would imagine it might increase simultaneous transcodes but generally speaking I think your cpu is enough.
