BasJaspers 3 Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Is there a option/location where you can manually edit the run-time of a movie? Sometimes I notice that the information is not scraped or you get the general information from the scraper which is not the same as the actual movie.
ebr 16187 Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 The run times we display do not come from metadata. They come from the actual video so they should be accurate for the version you have. Can you give an example where you think one is not correct?
BasJaspers 3 Posted February 1, 2017 Author Posted February 1, 2017 Thank you for the reply erb. I think I know what is going wrong. I am using drop n rip for copying my original movies to my server. Emby sees the newly made directory and immediately adds the movie to the Emby library. So the adding/scanning process is done by Emby before the movie is completely uploaded. When I refresh the metadata in Emby after the upload is finished the duration is added correctly. Is there a workaround to fix this? Or is this something that always needs to be done? I am using Emby version V3.1.2.0 on windows home server 2011. As player I am using Open Elec V6.0.3
Luke 42083 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 The workaround would be to have the copy take place to a folder that Emby server doesn't see, then once it is completed, move it to the destination library folder.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Or disabling Realtime Monitoring and ensuring your not processing anything new when a scheduled scan could be happening. But as Luke said, the easiest solution is process everything outside the library and allow it to complete before moving it into the library.
Abobader 3469 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Good day, Workaround is simple, simply disable the option "Enable real time monitoring" from library/libraries you doing most titles update to it. I used to have problem when that option enable, now days all my movies/tv's libraries have that option disabled. My best
Abobader 3469 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 ah, Happy2Play is faster as always, damn I love that guy
BasJaspers 3 Posted February 6, 2017 Author Posted February 6, 2017 I disabled real time monitoring but nothing changed. When I am uploading the movie is still directly get indexed. I am also wondering what you normally would need to do to index the movie when real time updating is disabled. I could not find a way to manually schedule that task. So far thanks for all the help.

A Library scan will index anything new or that has changed. You can click Scan Library on Library menu or Schedule Tasks. Note: If you click on the Task in Schedule Task it will open up to the trigger options. Edited February 6, 2017 by Happy2Play 1
BasJaspers 3 Posted February 6, 2017 Author Posted February 6, 2017 Thank you happy. I will give it a try. I also will make a new movie directory with real time monitoring disabled. Now I only changed the original setting, maybe chaining the setting does not work.
Solution Happy2Play 9783 Posted February 6, 2017 Solution Posted February 6, 2017 Not sure if a server restart is required when changing this setting, but it wouldn't hurt. 1
BasJaspers 3 Posted February 15, 2017 Author Posted February 15, 2017 Finally had some time to test this and a server restart solved the "problem". Thank you. It would off course be nicer if this could be done automatically. So the system checks the folder size every minute or so and if there is no change for a minute than it indexes the movie. But this is just a thought.

Thanks !That delay is probably perfect for a direct hard disk copy. But when it is a copy from a dvd of blu ray disk it is to short. Maybe be configurable delay could be a nice an simple feature?

BasJaspers 3 Posted February 15, 2017 Author Posted February 15, 2017 That sounds interesting. Definitely going to check and play with it. Thank you.
