Why does there app only connects on http? (Not https)

Well, the question is in the subject

 

I blocked the public http ports on my server, which resulted in that I was unable to connect to my servers.

 

.. as soon as I opened the http ports it worked again, are not the streaming and other data protected by https automatically?

Well I'm connecting with emby connect.

 

By entering the IP it works, but not when using emby connect.

 

This is tested remotely, and the http port is closed by the router..

Luke; anyway to force emby connect to use the https?

 

Since when I'm disabling the http the emby connect can't connect

There is an option in the server hosting setup to publish the https address as the public address.  Is it selected?

Thanks, that did the job.

 

I misinterpreted that function, I thought it was If you had your own domain address, not thru emby connection..
