CharleyVarrick 283 Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 While editing music videos metadata (adding artist name, album, year), I had some with multi artists and it suggested to add this symbol ; to separate them, which I did, but I started by making a few incorrectly by adding an empty space after the ; eg: David Gilmour; David Crosby instead of: David Gilmour;David Crosby Soon I caught the consequence of my mistake in Kodi when browsing music videos by artist. Notice those 2 sitting at the top with empty space before their names. I tried everything I could think of to correct it, and seemed to have partly succeeded Emby server now only list those 2 artists correctly (without preceeding empty space), but Kodi refuse to let go of those 2; they're listed both with and without empty space, and selecting them in kodi brings exact same content. Would you have any suggestion how I could lose the artists name with empty space in front of their names?
CharleyVarrick 283 Posted January 8, 2017 Author Posted January 8, 2017 Thanks Luke, I was afraid of that, as It'll process 24Tb's of media, just for fixing 2 actor's name appearing in 4 music videos. I'm know it's been asked before, but tools like Perform Manual Sync and Scan Library should offer more precise control, as in per Library, if not per media item.
Luke 42079 Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Have you tried Emby Theater? It displays your Emby library with no syncing necessary.
CharleyVarrick 283 Posted January 9, 2017 Author Posted January 9, 2017 (edited) Unfortunately, manual sync did not remove the 2 actor with empty space in front of their names...From Kodi, if I right-click those artist's names, I get the context menu including Emby Options, the same I use after watching a tv show episode to delete it. It looks like I could do some maintenance at this point, but unfortunately, in the artist context, selecting Emby options does nothing (dead link). Same behaviour can be observed with Movie actors. As for Emby Theater, I use it only as a fallback for Kodi. A dealbreaker for me is not being able to download subtitle on demand like Kodi does. I also (respectfully) find its lacking polish in player controls and video/audio settings. I do understand it is work in progress though. Edited January 9, 2017 by jlr19
Solution CharleyVarrick 283 Posted January 9, 2017 Author Solution Posted January 9, 2017 Managed to finally get it done, by deleting related nfo's and posters, then temporarily moving out the 4 music video files of their normal directory, then moving them back in.
