Rumbaar 13 Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Sorry I don't have the exact model, but it's a 2 or so years old (was at a friends house). It's not running Android TV, but has it's own 'apps' store, only PLEX is present as an app Just after some idea, if possible, to get all types of media running on this TV. I tried to play a a MKV file, and it came up unsupported media (though the audio did work). This was done via output display from phone running EMBY client to the WiFi attached TV. I then tried to access my media directly via the in built browser on the TV, via my ddns.net address. It found my server, but nothing rendered on the page. I then tried app.emby.media and was able to successfully render my server contents and access my server/media. Then tried to play the file and it just sat at the background preview image. I know that DNLA has profiles, which in this case I cannot access DNLA content via external source? So is it possible to force a profile from an output option when selecting a specific display output source? My phone can render the contents no problem, but the TV no go. I was able to mirror link the whole phone and play the contents that way, but that's not ideal. I would have thought if the app.emby.media could render the interface, it would know how to transcode for the TV to display correctly? At least? Cheers,
Solution Luke 42085 Posted January 8, 2017 Solution Posted January 8, 2017 You would think the web app would work but these bravia's are unfortunately running 2012-era webkit browsers. 1

So I can't force a 'profile' or trigger correct transcoding via an output from another device? I know it was a little complicated and very limited in this day & age for usage. Oh well. Thanks,
Luke 42085 Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 @@Rumbaar, the issue is that the sony dlna profiles just haven't been perfected yet. i will be doing testing this week on a sony and will hopefully be able to do just that. thanks.

Do DLNA profile work across remote library access? Good luck with your testing.
Luke 42085 Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 no, if you're using an Emby app then that's different from Dlna.
