Emby not playing videos on Roku TV

Hi Guys. I am running my emby server whs 2011/hp pro liant. I installed emby on my sons insignia roku tv. I can veiw everything but when i go to play a file, it gets stuck retrieving it. The little blue bar is stuck in the middle. I lowed the bit rate to 1.5 and don't see any other settings that I can change to enable playback.

How long have you waited?  If your server is slow and you are requesting something like subtitles it could take a while to start.

ok. I just tried it again and it gets stuck on retrieving and the it just cuts at about 15 seconds and does not play. Te retrieving bar is gone after that lke it played, but it didnt.

If that is the entire transcode log then it doesn't look like it is ever starting the transcode.

 

Please attach (don't post in a message, attach the file) the entire server log file and have Luke take a look.  Thanks.

Also you have a version of ffmpeg from 2013. you should download this version:

https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Resources/tree/master/ffmpeg/windows

 

then set it up in the emby server dashboard under the Transcoding menu.

Success. Everything works on all devices. Thank you SO MUCH luke. Is there anything else that I can install on the server that will enhance the pciture. Its low end so process power is not much. My goal is to build a new one in time. Again thank you and also a thnk you to ebr. (its good to be home)
