I am having difficulty getting the server to install.  It keeps stopping.  I am using Chrome.  Setup.exe is downloaded, but it doesn't execute when double clicked.  I have also tried MSIE.   I  Here is my error log.  Hopefully, someone can tell me how to fix it

.

Thanks,  Kent

Try clearing your ClickOnce cache (Google it).

I did not want to delete all the ClickOnce files and I did not see one I could identify with xbmc.  I am not sure what effect it would have to delete all the files.

Any further guidance?

We aren't xbmc...

Anyway, that is the only way I know to do it.  Others have had success with that approach.

I found a setup from 6/2013 for server installation.  I tried running it and got the same error message.  "Installation cannot be started. Contact the application vendor."

See similar situation here.  Solved by my suggestion above.

Brain Fart.  I meant MB3, not xbmc.

I ran this rundll32 dfshim CleanOnlineAppCache from the command prompt.  No change.  rebooted and no change.  Good suggestion, but didn't help.

Might want to try deleting the ClickOnce store folder: %userprofile%\Local Settings\Apps\2.0

I am having this issue with MBC on my roomates computer, now MBC wont install getting same error as dude above, no actual install log being generated, besides the useless "details" error log. (attached)

followed all help above, cleared cache with rundll command, and deleted 2.0 folder. no-go....

MBC was just running this morning on his pc, I had to re-load MY computer today, he didnt know what i was doing, couldnt figure out why MBC wouldnt work.... and tried uninstalling and re-installing it.   so it worked,  but didnt because of the server was down, got uninstalled, now wont install.

confused

I found a reference on MSDN that says this error could be caused by a Windows user profile corruption and to re-create it.
