Hi hope this is the correct place to post.

When adding new movies to the server not getting any backdrops, cover art, extra thumbs or thumbs all I get is a single poster.

Seems to be happening since beginning of November

Have refreshed and rescanned the library no change.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Keith.

Hi, what exactly makes you think that you aren't getting images?

Hi Luke

If i look in all the other folders i can see the movie (MKV) and then

nfo file

Extrathumbs folder,(with up to 10 images)

ExtraFanart folder, (with up to 10 images)

fanart file

landscape file

logo file

poster file

But any movie added in November

i only have the following

Movie

nfo file

poster

not changed any settings apart from the server updates

Regards

Keith.

What if you go view the movie in the web app? What do you see?

Hi Luke

We i don't normally use the web app or anything else apart from Emby theatre. But have just had a look at a couple of movies that only had the poster, web app showed loads of images for actors, director etc, only one back drop shows in the background. but when went back into the actual folder the extra-thumbs, extra-fanart, folders had suddenly appeared along with the logo, disc image etc

Not sure whats going on but don't want to have to go into the web app to update meta data every time for each movie.

You don't have to go into the web app. Every emby app will do the same thing. By default the images are not downloaded until they're actually needed. If you want to change this, you can configure your per-library settings.

Hi Luke

Well that seems to have changed then, all I normally needed to do was let the server do a scheduled scan and all the files (images etc) would be downloaded in the the movie folders.

Has the metadata settings been changed in the November updates?

regards

Keith

Yes we have been gradually moving to on-demand image downloading as our default behavior, although you have the ability to control this in library setup. If you want to know why, it's because it makes the library scan faster. You will have to thank your fellow community members constantly asking for faster library scans for this.

Having said that, we've designed it so that it will just work, so if you try to refrain from monitoring the raw folders and just go use your Emby apps, then you won't really have any reason to worry about it.
