How to reconfigure existiong users with Connect

Like a moron I accidentally wiped out my Emby Server installation and I'm setting everything back up.  I am having an issue adding some users back in.  When I enter in their Emby Connect username I get a message that says:

"The Emby account is already linked to an existing local user. An Emby account can only be linked to one local user at a time."

In the settings for my current install this username is not associated with any other user.  How can I correct this?

You need separate Emby Connect accounts for each user. Is that what you're doing?

Yes,  Everyone has their own Emby Connect account.  I had everyone setup for some time and then today I stupidly deleted all the data and configuration files/folder from my Emby Server install.  So now I am going back through and adding everyone back in with their corresponding Emby Connect username and I get two that throw that error.

My apologies.  The users was certain they were giving me their correct username.  Turns out they weren't!  Correct username solved the issue.  Sorry!

One question.  If I become a premiere member and install the Server Config Backup plugin will it always restore the libraries and watched settings for all users as long as the file paths don't change?

Glad to hear it. Thanks for reporting back.

Yes, although for certain media types that have internet identifiers such as movies and tv, these are a little more resilient to paths changing so you wouldn't even have to worry about that. for things like home videos though it would be tied to the path.

Good to know.  Thanks!  I guess it's time to subscribe to premiere.

That does make me question something...  If the internet identifiers help with movies then why is it that if I have a movie (say Twister) in my library that's been watched for some time under the path /movies/DVD/Twister/ and upgrade to the Blu-Ray version with the new path /movies/BluRay/Twister/ it shows up as a new, unwatched movie?

probably because your metadata is different between the titles. Maybe one has a Tmdb id, one has an Imdb id, or something to that effect.

Gotcha.  That probably is it.  I've always used IMDB ID's until switching to Emby.
