scouseman 4 Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 I have recently installed emby server on Debian v 3.1.118.0, I have also got Sync Queue installed v1.1.6074.1275 When I upload a video file into the tv series folder emby does not seem to detect the new file until I do a full server scan. I am assuming the server should automatically detect new media file. I have enclosed my server log file. Anyone any ideas what the problem be? Cheers log.txt
Luke 42077 Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Try enabling the realtime monitor under library -> advanced
scouseman 4 Posted August 24, 2016 Author Posted August 24, 2016 Hi Luke, That setting was originally set to auto and I changed it to 'Yes' and restarted Emby but it is not made any difference, The way I am testing is I have got a Tv Series set up in my library and I am adding additional episodes into the folder then checking in My Media, in the browser and the TV series section in Kodi, it is not showing up in either until I do a manual library scan on the server. Cheers
Luke 42077 Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Then adjust the schedule of the library scan under Scheduled Tasks so that you don't need to run it manually.
scouseman 4 Posted August 24, 2016 Author Posted August 24, 2016 Thanks for your continued help Luke, I thought Emby would automatically detect new files in the library without me having to run a library scan if the setting 'realtime monitor' was enabled? When I had Emby Server set up in Windows it would, doesn't this work on Debian? Cheers
Solution Luke 42077 Posted August 24, 2016 Solution Posted August 24, 2016 It does work but is not guaranteed to work on all file systems. You can try updating to mono 4.4.2 and see if that helps. 1
scouseman 4 Posted August 24, 2016 Author Posted August 24, 2016 Thank for the suggestion, I have now updated mono to 4.4.2 and Emby seem to be detecting the new media files. Thank very much for your assistance, it is much appreciated. Cheers
