TV Series BD help - any way to show individual episodes?

The main reason I'm switching from Plex to Emby is the BD/DVD Disc support and so far I am very impressed.

For Television Series which span multiple Blu-ray discs, is there any way to have the individual episodes show up? Right now it does show an entry for each disc but will play it like a 2-hour movie instead of 22 minute episodes. Is there any way to have it show the individual episodes without remuxing it?

I'm guessing the answer is no but thought I'd ask first. The support for BD is already very impressive.

Hi, welcome. right now, no, it will just display as one long multi-episode video. you would have to rip the individual episodes to video files.

It also depends on how the PGC is created by the disc author.  Back in the day of dvd's, some would author it as one long chain with chapter marks for the titles, so it would be a 180 minute long "movie" with say 36 chapters, and it would be one large vob set.  Then they started doing different vobs for each "file"  so extras, and such would be broken off from the main vob to give more control over the quality of the film.  It's possible that now that blurays are so large that the author houses are once again being lazy and not breaking up the PGC.  Try a disc with a set PGC for episodes and see if it does the same thing.  I know this will be difficult and I do apologize for suggesting it, but as a former anime scene encoder, this is what I believe the situation is.

Rip the individual episodes as MKVs using MakeMKV or similar tools.  Name the episodes according to the naming wiki.  They'll show up as you expect.

As RanmaCanada mentioned, there are shows, usually anime DVDs, that require some extra work to split into individual episodes.
