Question About adding Music

Hello,  I could not find the answer so I figured I would ask.  I'm using Emby Server 3.0.6060

 

In regards to adding MP3 files to Emby, Does it create metadata files pulled from the internet, like it does with Movies and TV Shows?   Or can I have it just use the ID3 Tags.

 

I read from the Wiki https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Music%20naming  it says  " Track numbers are retrieved using embedded ID3 tag information."

 

Is it only Track Numbers or more info, like Artist, Genre, Album etc.

 

I have a huge collection to which I may have to re-structure it to work on Emby depending on how the music library is built.

Hi, all song information is pulled from the audio file. Where internet metadata comes into play is by downloading information about the albums and artists.
