Chapter Images/Scene Images

I have searched the forum and I couldn't find a definitive answer to this question.

 

I see that we can enable the Server to create chapter images for movies and episodes. It seems like from what I did find in the forums that there should be an option somewhere to also create scene images (so when you fast forward or seek you can see the images pop up and know where you're at in a show) but I either can't find it or it's not there anymore. The posts I did find referring to this were pretty old and I know a lot has changed on various server updates.

 

So, is this something that can't be done anymore? Will it ever be available if not available now?

Emby server has only ever had chapter images with the term scene probably used interchangeably here ... The exception being a plugin for roku to extract images every few seconds for the functionality I think you are looking for.... But this plugin is very taxing on your server when installed and obviously only works for roku

That's it! Now that you mention the Roku plugin that is where I remember it from in the past. Since I don't use a Roku I never looked into it. 

 

So on the setting on the server it's just the Chapter images that get picked up if that is selected at the certain chapter marks (like when you use mkv to rip a Bluray it creates chapter markers).

Yes it just extracts an image at each chapter point
