johnb 0 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I've just installed MB3 (V3.0.108.0 B1-7.1) but nothing (music, videos etc) shows in library. If I select "update library" it says it's begun a scan of library but still nothing shows in the tabs for music etc. I've left it open for over 3 days now - I'd read it can take a long time. Windows Media Centre shows and plays all my files no problem. MB3 server is v3.0.5115.35703 PC is Intel i7 @ 3.4Ghz with Windows 7 pro. I've attached a few screen shots in a word doc in case these might help. MB3 - JB.doc As I'm new to Mediabrowser, I'm hoping its just something simple I haven't done in the set up? Thanks
Solution bloodtaker 71 Posted January 10, 2014 Solution Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) Have you setup your media folders inside of the server http://imageshack.com/a/img690/2281/dnvb.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img24/3037/bjvr.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img843/8227/mu7e.jpg Edited January 10, 2014 by bloodtaker 2
Yogi 367 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Hi John and welcome, Make sure you have a read of the setup guide here amd make sure you set it up using UNC paths as that is one of the most common mistakes when setting Mediabrowser for the first time. 1
ebr 16169 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Also make sure you aren't blocking things by rating and have no metadata due to library structure issues. As Yogi says, follow the guides. BTW - you can post images directly in this forum. Use the little image icon on the tool bar in the editor.
johnb 0 Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 Many thanks for the replies. Bloodtaker provided the answer to my problem - I thought I'd provided the links during the installation but obviously not. The guide is (obviously) very helpful too. I had looked in the FAqs before posting but clearly not in the right place. Thanks again.
