Use remote to enter letters for search

Hi,

 

I've built a new HTPC and put EMBY back on.  My previous build I'd done something - I believe in MediaBrowser before EMBY - to allow the remote to enter letters by consecutive pressing of numbers on the number pad.  I've tried in vain to find out how to turn this back on.  Can anybody steer me to how this is done.

That is a feature of WMC itself.  It is called "triple-tap entry".  Maybe you have to enable it somewhere in the WMC settings.

I use this feature quite a lot.  I've never had to turn anything on or change any setting to be able to use it.

I've always thought it's just a part of WMC.

 

Does the remote do anything when you press the number pads?  Like show the corresponding number?

 

Also what if you go into WMC music (Not in Emby) and try it there?  It should work there and will also let you know if it's just an Emby issue or not.

Thanks ebr - triple tap was the phrase I was missing.  Once you gave me that I was able to find and download a fix for my remote.
