Nazgulled 11 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Hello, I have 2 questions about metadata, one for TV Shows and another for Movies: TV Shows: All my shows are properly identified with the correct TV network and all of them but 3 have network logos (images). The ones that don't have are named ABC (US), FOX (US), FX (US). It seems the pattern is that any network with "(US)" in the name is not properly recognized and there's no logo for this network. Is this bug, or expected behavior? Any way to fix this so I can get a cute network logo for them? Movies: I have more than 60 movies on my library but only 4 of them have a studio (with logo) identified. I find it strange that it couldn't identify the studio for more than 4 movies. What could possibly be the problem for this and how can I fix it? Thanks in advance and kudos for the awesome application you guys have created here
Luke 42083 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 The network and studio logos are created and supplied by community members. If one is missing, you can always help locate one: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Resources

If one is missing, you can always help locate one: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Resources I'm not sure that's the case... For instance, there's already an ABC logo: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Resources/blob/master/images/imagesbyname/studios/ABC/thumb.jpg But the network is being identified as "ABC (US)" and not as "ABC". I believe that's the issue here... As for movies, look at this: It's missing more than 60 movies... The studio is not being identified, is not about missing images because I believe that GitHub repository has all of them...
Nazgulled 11 Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 Updated: For the movies, I've realized that most my .nfo files didn't contain a studio tag and I had to make a manual library refresh to get additional/missing data from other metadata providers. It would be nice if this was automatic on library scans or on a different schedule task. As for the TV Shows, I's probably the "(US)" suffix that is identified the network as a different one, like "ABC" and "ABC (US)" are two different networks, but in reality they are not. I think the regex for this detection would be improved to ignore stuff like this, just a thought

Nazgulled 11 Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 If you have pre-existing metadata files that's what we will read. You need to take manual steps to alter them. The point being - if you went to the trouble to provide this information externally, we assume that is the information you desire. Yes, that makes sense. But maybe we could have an option (that people could opt to use or not) to fill missing metadata from other providers besides the local metadata files. Just an idea Some folks from down under might disagree... Australian Broadcasting Corporation = ABC too. Didn't know that... Anyway, I think there's something that could be improved here. I mean, this particular show is being identified as "ABC (US)", for which you clearly have a logo on the Emby.Resources repository, but it's not being associated to this network name. Maybe what we could have is a list of network names to map to a particular image. Again, just an idea
MrWebsmith 598 Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 @@ebr wouldnt the studio cleaner plugin do exactly that... he can personally on his server map the two abc's together? 1
Nazgulled 11 Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 with what other providers? The Open Movie Database and TheMovieDb. What I meant exactly was... Like @@ebr stated if I have pre-existing metadata (which I do, I have one .nfo file for each video file), that will be read and everything else ignored unless I force a refresh for missing information. What I'm suggesting is to add a user configurable option to fetch missing information from all the other enabled metadata downloaders (if any) if the .nfo file is missing information. @@ebr wouldnt the studio cleaner plugin do exactly that... he can personally on his server map the two abc's together? Tried to use that plugin... Not sure if I did something wrong but I couldn't make it work. But IMO, this should be a built-in feature and not part of some plugin.
